SM Entertainment has officially confirmed that they will be taking their ‘SM Town Live World Tour‘ to NYC this October!

On October 23rd, SM Entertainment artists will be heading over to the Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, New York to perform for a 15,000 member audience! The Madison Square Garden in particular is regarded as a ‘dream stage’ by singers, as only the best worldwide stars like Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and the likes have performed on it.

Considering the successes of their past concerts in L.A., Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, and Paris, they’ll have no trouble selling out seats in no time for NYC. Stay tuned to allkpop for further updates!

[News] MBC reveals line-up of idol participants for MBC’s 3rd ‘Idol Star Athletics Championships

MBC’s Chuseok special, ‘Idol Star Athletics Championships‘, is back for the third time, and they’ve just revealed the line-up of its participating idols.

The first recording will be held on August 27th at the Jamshil main stadium. Idols in attendance include Super Junior, SHINee, SISTAR, miss A, Davichi, ZE:A, T-ara, MBLAQ, G.NA, INFINITE, Hwanhee, and more, making up a total of a 140-150 member cast.

2AM’s Jo Kwon, whose athleticism earned him the nickname ‘Kkap bolt’, is unfortunately unable to attend due to an overseas schedule. Boom, who recently was discharged from the army, will be joining the show as an MC alongside other MBC anchormen and track & field MCs.

Competitions include the 50m race, co-ed high jump, co-ed 50m hurdle, co-ed 400m relay, and others. The special will air on September 13th, one day after the Chuseok holiday.

[Interview] Jonghyun’s Interview on ‘Ray’ Japanese Magazine.

1. If there is a chance to start a work…
A: When I was in Junior high school, I wanted a chance to form a band, but now I have much interests in what I am doing. After I graduated, I was attached to an eligible position in my current company(SME) and was able to debut.

2. What kind of character do you play in SHINee?
A: I think I am like the lubricant of the team. Regarding something which I have decided, I will pull the other members together because of my impatient (wanting things to advance quickly) character.

3. How do you spend your rest day?
A: I do a lot of practice on the songs and dance. Recently there are many practices, even on rest day, there is not much leisure. (laugh)

4. Now, what are you addicted to?
A: I feel intimate with Japanese language because I have been watching anime. I have watched [ONE PIECE], and next I will watch [Haré+Guu] and other animes.

5. So now, please tell us your failure story!
A: Hmmm… none!! I am the type that if I know I will fail (in doing something), I will not do it from the start. (laugh)

6. What kind of child are you when you are in junior high school and senior high school?
A: With the others, I am a pleasant nice child. Now also, for the sake of studying Japanese, during the interval of work， I will talk to the surrounding staff (in Japanese), we will chat non-stop.

7. What is your impression of the Japanese girls (fans)?
A: They are like pure young ladies. During live (shows), I feel that they are watching (us) attentively from the start till the end.

8. What is your favourite Japanese phrase?
A: [shouuganainaa] (If you insist on it…). No special reason for this….just thought that it sounded kind of interesting.

9. If you have a week of rest day, what would you want to do?
A: I want to go traveling. If I have time, I want to try to return(visit) to Europe.

10. 10 years later, do you have an ideal, type of guy whom you want to become?
A: I hope to become the most handsome, during that (period) in my life (laugh). Getting to the point of [Myself] and what I say, I want to become a guy who can make anyone think(agree) that I am cool.

[News] JYP and SME to collaborate for ‘Dream High 2′?

SM Entertainment is rumored to have shown interest in joining KBS’s ‘Dream High 2‘, the sequel to the hottest idol drama to date.

The first season was a successful collaborative effort between actor Bae Yong Joon’s company Key East Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. Now it looks like they’ll be joined by SM Entertainment, thanks to the good relations between the company presidents.

A KBS official stated, “SM President Kim Youngmin and JYP President Jung Wook are good friends. As far as I know, they’re both very interested in collaborating to make another great music-based drama. Both companies are willing to use all their resources in order have the best outcome possible, so it would be something to look forward to.”

Lee Eungbok PD of the original ‘Dream High’ series is currently working on the second season, and plans to air it in early 2012. Due to the first season’s high popularity, everyone is excited to see who will make up the main cast for season two. Now that SM Entertainment will supposedly thrown in their hat along with the other companies, netizens are already naming SM artists like TVXQ, SNSD, Super Junior, SHINee, and f(x) as possible cast members.

A SM representative has however urged caution, “It’s true that we have had positive discussions about a co-production. But talks are still on-going and nothing has been decided as yet.”

Meanwhile, ‘Dream High’ season one will be released through DVD on September 4th. Having enjoyed much popularity in Japan, the show will also have a special event at Japan’s Saitama Super Arena Hall called the ‘Dream High Premium Event 2011.’

[News] List of confirmed Top K-POP artists to hold free concert in New York

As we previously reported earlier, some of the top K-Pop stars will be coming to New York in October.

Inside sources have informed allkpop of the artists confirmed to be performing at the concert!

The free concert from KBS, open to all ages will be held on October 9th, 2011 (Confirmed date) at Randall’s Island Park in New York and will feature many top artists!

[News] SHINee member Minho’s cousin appears on Mnet’s ‘Superstar K3′

SHINee member Minho’s cousin appeared on ‘Superstar K3‘ which aired on August 19th. The appearance surprised both the judges, as well as the viewers, because of his completely different look compared to Minho.

On this day, a hefty guy confessed, “SHINee’s Minho is my aunt’s (father side) son” during his audition on ‘Superstar K’ revealing that he is indeed Minho’s cousin.

However, his confession garnered interest and curiosity because his aesthetics were quite different than those of Minho, who is known for his devilishly good looks. In Soon Ee, one of the judges on the panel commented while giggling at his confession, “Minho is really good looking though, right?“.

Already receiving much attention from his scandalous confession, the potential singing ability of Minho’s cousin also became a topic of discussion; his talent will be revealed on the next episode of ‘Superstar K’.

Meanwhile, this episode flourished with various family members of celebrities such as, T-ara’s Jiyeon’s brother, and 5Dolls‘ Chan Mi’s sister as well.
