[News] SHINee and Super Junior climb to the top of the Oricon Charts

Super Junior and SHINee have both risen to the top of the Oricon chart immediately upon release of their new Japanese singles.
According to the leading authority of album sales, Oricon, Super Junior’s new single “Mr. Simple” seized the #1 spot on the chart the same day it was released on December 7th (Note: Oricon chart shows that it was actually #3 with 17,185 sales behind Namie Amuro & AKB48 on the release day). It is quite the achievement for Super Junior as they have yet to make their official Japanese debut and have not launched any official promotions. Previously, their first Japanese single “Bonamana” released this past June also climbed the Oricon as high as #2 on the chart.
According to the Oricon Daily Singles Chart, The Boss‘ “Love Days“, Rainbow‘s “Mach“, and rookie group SHU-I‘s “Negabiga Yeah!” seized #7, #8, and #9, respectively.
It wasn’t limited to just the singles chart as the K-pop stars dominated Oricon’s album charts as well.
SHINee released their first full-length Japanese album ‘The First‘ on the 7th, and it immediately climbed to the #3 slot on the Oricon Daily Album Chart. Their second Japanese single “Juliet” that was released this past August also rose to the #1 slot of the Oricon single chart and thus, the boys are receiving high interest in Japan as of late.
The ladies of KARA who represent Hallyu girl groups in Japan released a new full-length Japanese album “Super Girl” on November 23rd which secured the #4 spot on Oricon’s Daily Album Chart. The album was previously the top album immediately upon it’s release.
The fact that the names of six different K-pop artists have risen on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart as well as rank on the Album Charts are making their national fans proud.
