[News] '2013 MelOn Music Awards' reveal their Top 10 K-Pop artists of the year.

The top ten artists of the year 2013 have been revealed by the '2013 MelOn Music Awards.'

Loen Entertainment, the parent company of MelOn is hosting this award ceremony and received over 1,740,000 online votes in the first round that counted as 20% of the final score.  The other 80% consisted of the artists' scores based on their music sales.

In the end, these artists were chosen as the Top 10 of 2013: EXO, Davichi, Dynamic Duo, Busker Busker, B2ST, SHINee, SISTAR, IU, Ailee, and G-Dragon.

EXO received the most votes with 24% (417,952), B2ST was second with 20% (353,692), and SHINee was third with 12% (204,708).

These members in the top 10 will be put in a second round of votes that will take place until November 13th to choose the winners of the top three awards: Best Artist, Best Album, and Best Song. The winners will be announced on November 14th at the fifth annual award ceremony which will take place at Seoul's Olympic Gymnastics Arena.

[News] SHINee’s Onew revealed to have suffered a neck injury.

Onew has been revealed to have suffered a neck injury and to accommodate for the injury, adjustments will be made to SHINee's stage for “Everybody”.

 SM Entertainment stated, "Onew injured his neck, making it difficult for him to participate in his group’s performances for the time being. In the upcoming stages, he will only take part in singing and a new performance will be shown for ‘Everybody’."

Although Onew has difficulties moving his neck, he still carried out his schedule, which included a music program and ‘The Show' on the 29th. Beginning on 'Show Champion' on the 30th, Shawols will get to see a new version of SHINee's stage with Onew who will mainly sing for the majority of the performance.

[News] SHINee's Minho talks about his fast metabolism + ripping his tight pants while dancing.

SHINee appeared on the October 28 installment of KBS 2TV's 'Hello Today'.  On this day, a woman on the show revealed that her husband would always tell her to lose weight.

The MCs then asked the boys of SHINee whether they had to be concerned about their weight.

It appeared that Minho never had a problem with his weight.  He revealed, "I eat five meals a day, but I don't gain weight."  Understandably, anyone would be jealous of such high metabolism!

Jonghyun revealed, "I lost 12 kg (~ 26 lbs) since the last time I was on 'Hello Today,'" which was eight months ago.

On the show the topic of their tight pants also came up and MC Lee Young Ja asked, "While performing fierce choreography, have you ever ripped your pants?

Jonghyun said, "Even today, I ripped about two pair of pants."

Minho said, "There's a part called the 'DJ dance' where we spread our legs and while spreading my legs, the middle part suddenly just ripped open," causing everyone to laugh.

The fierce dancing and the very tight pants are sure to create such outfit mishaps.

[News] SHINee's Jonghyun reveals his mother still treats him like a child.

On October 28, SHINee made a guest appearance on KBS 2TV's 'Hello.'

On this day, one man talked about never receiving love or attention from his mother.  He said, "My one and only mother has no interest in me and even though I do all sorts of aegyo, she curses at me."

Jonghyun, however, revealed that he had the complete opposite problem.  He said, "My mother was the director of a day care center and still treats me like a child."  

Formal language in Korean, when spoken in the right tone, could sound like baby talk. Jonghyun said that her mother would speak "formally" to him, saying things like, "Jonghyun, did you eat?"  However, it would come off like she were speaking to a young child.  He said, "I'm twenty-four years old, not four years old."

In addition, whenever she would call him to a meal, she would attach endearing phrases in front of his name so she would essentially be saying things like "My lovable Jonghyun" and "the freshly woken up Jonghyun."

Addressing his mother through the show, Jonghyun said sweetly, "Please just say 'my lovable son.'  I love you."

[News] SHINee 5th Mini Album ‘EVERYBODY’ Tops Music Sales Charts for second week in a row.

SHINee’s fifth mini album ‘Everybody’ tops major music charts for the second week in a row.

On October 28, SHINee’s agency said that ‘Everybody’ tops major music sales charts such as Hanteo Chart, Hottracks, and Shinara Record. SHINee ‘EVERYBODY’ tops TV music program charts as well as music sales charts.

SHINee was ranked first on MBC MUSIC ‘Show Champion’ on 23, KBS2 ‘Music Bank’ on 25, MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ on 26, and SBS ‘The Music Trend’ on 27.

SHINee’s ‘Everybody’ topped the song and album charts of Gaon Chart (Oct 13~19) in digital sales, downloads and album sales.

[News] SHINee's Jonghyun says a large fine disappeared after he tweeted his opinion about phone contracts

SHINee appeared on SBS' radio program 'Cultwo Show' on October 24, and Jonghyun revealed that he once tweeted something about a phone contract fine and the very next day, the fine disappeared.

To elaborate, Jonghyun said on the show, "The day after I posted my opinion about the phone contract fine onto Twitter, the 2 million won (~1,900 USD) fine no longer existed. However, I don't think it changed because of me. The day before, the topic came out on the news, too, so people knew about it. I think young people found out about it because of my tweet."

The DJs asked if he had any interest in entering the political world, and thankfully for fans Jonghyun replied, "Nope. It's okay. I want to continue being a singer."

[News] SHINee's Taemin and A Pink's Na-Eun 'kiss' on 'We Got Married'?

SHINee's Taemin and A Pink's Na-Eun made up after last week's argument on 'We Got Married'.

On the October 26th episode, Taemin completed a few missions given by Na-Eun to make up for his prank that brought her to tears. After successfully cheering her up, Taemin brought up, "There's something I want to take a picture of. A picture of us kissing."

Though the two idol stars did end up completing the kiss photo, it wasn't like you would think. Taemin took a photo bending forward on a bridge, while Na-Eun did the same in a different shot. After the two were put together, Taemin and Na-Eun had their first "kiss" on 'We Got Married'.

Na-Eun also completed a mission requested by Taemin, yelling, "Taemin oppa, I love you," for the first time.

SHINee's Key seems to have forgotten about A Pink's Eunji as he recently chose actress Park Bo Young as his ideal type.

On the October 25th broadcast of MBC FM4U's 'It's Park Kyung Lim's 2 O'Clock Date', DJ Park Kyung Lim asked Key, "Who is your ideal type? Is there anyone you would want to spend time with, so much so that 24 hours is not enough?

Key revealed, "I thought this person was very charming after watching a rerun. That person is none other than Park Bo Young. The fact that I like Park Bo Young a lot is probably surprising to most."

Jonghyun added, "Our members prefer a cute and lovely style like Park Bo Young. Key wasn't always like that. He used to like a strong, female warrior style."

Key shared, "I don't think I would ever get bored of Park Bo Young even if I spend 24 hours with her."

[News] Taemin plays the bad boy and makes Na-Eun cry on 'We Got Married'.

A Pink's Na-Eun cried because of Taemin's bad boy act on the October 19 installment of 'We Got Married'.

The two idols had some romantic time creating a cast out of their hands. The SHINee member, who would've normally loved to hold Na-Eun's hand, complained the entire time and suggested that they break the cast because he was uncomfortable.

Na-Eun commented, "I really don't want to. He's not that type of person, so it was hard to adjust to. I felt like it was only me who liked him. He wasn't the person I thought he was, so I thought, 'I made a mistake. I gave him my heart too quickly.'"

In the end, she found that it was all a ploy by Taemin to make her express herself more. He said, "She was really cute. I think she's as innocent as a baby."

[News] SM label mates EXO and Girls' Generation show their support for SHINee's comeback.

It appears that SHINee is receiving some SM love from both their senior and junior label mates, who want to support the boys during their comeback promotions.

In order to show their support for label mate SHINee, Girls' Generation visited KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' studio and took a picture with the boys.  The picture was uploaded onto SM Town's official Facebook on the 18th along with the words: "Girls' Generation made a surprise visit to cheer for SHINee!"

In it, the Girls' Generation members are each holding a copy of SHINee's recently released fifth mini-album and smiling happily at the camera while standing behind the boys.

However, that is not all!  EXO members also showed their support, as well.  A nine-set collage of three EXO members holding SHINee's album was posted onto SM's official Facebook with the caption: "EXO Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Sehun support SHINee's comeback!"

[News] Billboard Praises SHINee’s Choreography for ‘Everybody’.

Shining a light on SHINee, Billboard named the complex moves of ‘Everybody’ as some of 2013’s Top choreography.

On October 14, SHINee returned with its fifth mini album, Everybodyand showcased its unique performance, bringing the attention of Billboard.

Billboard released an article on October 15 titled, “SHINee’s Everybody showcases some of 2013’s Top Choreography.”

The article read, “The boys are in a constant state of twirling, jumping and lifting each other in the accompanying music video. The performance of Everybody was based on the concept of ‘toy robot,’ showing unique and clean cut moves, making the audience feel like they’re watching an animation story with an exciting melody.

Meanwhile, SHINee’s fifth mini album ranks number on the Hanteo Charts as the members continue to promote Everybody on weekly music programs.
